I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Forestry at the University of Toronto, working in Professor Thomas' Lab. My research focuses on the emissions and sinks of Methane (CH₄) and Nitrous Oxide (N₂O) from tree leaves and stems across different forest ecosystems. This work spans tropical and temperate tree species, examining how their leaves influence greenhouse gas dynamics.

I hold an M.Sc. (2019) and a B.Sc. (2017) in Forestry and Environmental Science from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. From 2020 to 2022, I was a research assistant on various projects, leading to multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. My overarching research goal is to understand greenhouse gas fluxes in forest ecosystems better and contribute to climate change mitigation strategies.

Researchers from the Thomas Lab (University of Toronto) collect foliar and soil methane (CH₄) and nitrous oxide (N₂O) flux data as part of the Toronto Biochar Street Tree Experiment. The study assesses the impact of biochar amendments on greenhouse gas dynamics, tree performance, and soil conditions across over 200 trees in the city’s downtown core.
